Dana Anderson has joined West Central Initiative as the Communications Officer. Dana most recently served as an Associate Professor of English and Communications at the North Dakota State College of Science.

“We’re thrilled to have Dana on the West Central Initiative team,” said Sarah Casey, West Central Initiative’s Director of Strategic Communications. “Her years of experience as a communications professional and communications educator will serve our team, our organization, and our region well. She’s highly skilled and ready to jump into this new role.”

As the Communications Officer, Dana will serve as a strategic partner to further West Central Initiative’s regional philanthropic and economic development work. She’ll develop and execute communication plans that support the organization’s strategic framework and promote its programs and services throughout the region and beyond.

According to Dana, she was drawn to West Central Initiative because of its purpose-driven work and organizational culture. “It’s exciting to find a job opportunity that not only aligns with your skills but also your values and interests,” Dana said. “The more I learned about West Central Initiative—the strategic framework, the mission, the people—the more I wanted to join the team and do good work!”

Dana lives in Wahpeton with her husband and three sons. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, spending time at the lake, and cheering on her boys at sporting events.
