Ashley Quam, from Battle Lake, Minnesota, has joined West Central Initiative as its Communications Specialist. She recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Minnesota State University – Mankato.
“Ashley is no stranger to West Central Initiative or our work,” said Sarah Casey, West Central Initiative’s Director of Strategic Communications. “She’s been an integral part of our communications team as an intern for the past two years. Ashley’s strategic communication skills, future-focused mindset, and dedication to the people and places of west central Minnesota make her the perfect person to join our communications team.”
In her role at West Central Initiative, Ashley will manage the organization’s social media strategy and digital storytelling. She’ll also assist in communication planning, event planning, and website management. She’ll serve the West Central Initiative team as a strategic partner to further the organization’s regional work, particularly in the areas of economic and community development.
According to Ashley, she was drawn to West Central Initiative because of its focus on helping and improving the community and region in which she was raised. “I enjoy working for an organization that provides support for many impactful causes,” said Ashley. “Connecting people to our organization, our region, and each other is a passion of mine. And, in this role, I get to do that every day.”
In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time outside, waterskiing, yoga, and hanging out with her family’s dogs. “My brother, Darren Quam, is a musician—and I’m his biggest fan,” said Ashley. “So, I spend a lot of my time in the summer attending his gigs and seeing other live music in the lakes area.”
Welcome aboard, Ashley!
