Volunteer your time to benefit the people and places of west central Minnesota

We’re seeking candidates to join our Board of Directors. We serve the counties of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, and Wilkin and a portion of White Earth Nation.

The Board of Directors supports and guides our organization as we work to fulfill our mission: serving to improve west central Minnesota through funding, programs, and technical assistance. The Board of Directors helps to determine our organization’s strategic framework, ensure fiscal responsibility, evaluate performance, and establish policies for effective organizational management.

Although not a requirement, we’re particularly interested in board members from Pope and Traverse Counties and/or individuals who have expertise in areas such as health, human services, marketing, volunteerism, climate, finance, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

West Central Initiative President Anna Wasescha.

Board members volunteer their time, roughly three to eight hours per month. Although much of the work can be done remotely, board members make every effort to attend at least four meetings in person per year, typically at our headquarters in Fergus Falls.

To learn more about this opportunity, express interest yourself, or nominate someone you feel would be a good fit for the role, visit old.wcif.org/join-our-board. The deadline to express interest or nominate is Friday, June 23.

“The future we want is one where everyone belongs and where every community is vibrant and welcoming,” said Wasescha. “If that future resonates with you, consider joining our Board of Directors.”
